Meet the resort’s talented Executive Chef who brings a wealth of culinary knowledge to each and every dish.

Executive Chef Russell Michel

Executive Chef Russell Michel joins The Westin La Paloma, having served as the Executive Chef at Morgan’s Restaurant and the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Sacramento for nearly seven years. He is committed to buying locally and using only the freshest Tucson ingredients for his unique style of cuisine. Passion is truly where his creations begin and are finished with the upmost care to feed your body, not just fill it.

Chef Michel was a member of the Fox 40 Live Team with the morning news show for nearly three years as their resident chef presenting the “Ask a Chef” segment every Wednesday during the 9 o’clock hour answering the questions of the viewer from his kitchen to yours.

In 2010, Chef Michel was honored as the Celebrity Chef Challenge winner in Sacramento, and the following year he was the event emcee with a live audience of 900 people. In 2012, Chef Russell was one of the celebrity judges for this event, as well as overseeing his satellite kitchen.

He built a successful partnership with Local Roots Food Tours, making Morgan’s Restaurant the highlight of each tour. During these events, participants would enjoy a tableside visit with him to learn more about his cuisine, how it is prepared, and the purpose of each ingredient in his seasonal creations.
