A Full Day of History and Fun in Tucson

Ever wonder what it was like to be in Tucson back in its heyday? Well, you can find out for yourself by visiting Old Tucson Studios, a well-preserved slice of the past right here, near new Tucson!

Once you enter Old Tucson, you’ll pass through the gates of a town that has long since gone but is not forgotten. The Old West was once alive and well here in Tucson, and the current day studio preserves this time period well.

Come to dine like they did in the Old West and enjoy some shopping too! Head to the Grand Palace Saloon to wet your whistle (and have some popcorn, nachos, and other delicious fare!), or head to Pony Express Pizza, Wings & More for sit-down fare, like burgers, fries, grilled sandwiches, etc. You can even get a vegetarian black bean burger unlike true Wild West times!

There’s also Big Jake’s Restaurant, The Elixir Rx (fill your prescription of a coffee, hot cocoa, latte, beer, margarita, or fountain drink!), and La Plaza Ice Cream. Tons of shops offer sweets, toys, souvenirs, gifts, and more!

Old Tucson Studios is a studio because it was actually the site of many western films, including “Rio Bravo” (1959), “Gunfight at the OK Corral” (1956), “Death Wish” (1974), “The Frisco Kid” (1979), “Three Amigos” (1986), “Tombstone” (1993), and many more! See where hundreds of films were shot and experience the thrill of looking behind the scenes at the sets in real life!

Here’s the address for Old Tucson:

201 S. Kinney Road, Tucson, AZ
