Endless Activities in Tucson, AZ

Absolute luxury amid the Santa Catalina foothills near Tucson, the Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa is laid out like a Sonoran Desert dreamscape—equal parts lavish playground and tranquil haven.

You can come here purely to decompress amid the mountains-and-desert beauty—exquisitely and seamlessly echoed in our landscaping—and amid the sheer embrace of our pampering hospitality, whether enjoyed in the palatial comfort of our suites or at a well-tended table in one of our eight onsite restaurants.

But we also put at your disposal a feast of activities to complement the relaxing ambience and breathtaking Southwest scenery. Let’s have a look at just a sampling of options!

Our 5-Pool Oasis

Every desert needs an oasis, and we like to think of our entire resort, nestled again the high Santa Catalinas, as one. The oasis within our oasis, meantime, is the decked-out waterworld of our five lovely pools.

Experience the thrill of the mighty SlideWinder, our 177-foot-long waterslide, or bliss out in the vivifying waters of our mineral pool (stocked with salt direct from the legendary Dead Sea). Throw in refreshment service from Sabino’s Pool Bar & Grill, the mini-retreats of both family and adults-only cabanas, and of course that year-round Southern Arizona sunshine, and you’ve got more than an oasis: You’ve got a little slice of paradise.

Feel like whacking (or slicing) that fuzzy green ball around during your stay with us here in the Sonora hills? Well, you’re in luck: The La Paloma Tennis & Health Center makes a premier racketsports facility, ranked among the Top 50 courts in the country by Tennis magazine. Whether it’s the grittiness of clay or the pop of the hardcourt, our 10 courts—eight of them lit at night—let you unlock your inner Grand Slam champion. (And did we mention we’ve got racquetball as well?)

The same kind of caliber applies to our Jack Nicklaus 27-hole golf course, actually comprised of three different courses: Hill, Canyon, and Ridge. The layout’s its own vision of Arizona beauty, what with all the native cacti, yucca, palo verde, and other desert flora accenting the greens and fairways.

Red Door Salon & Spa

Earlier we said our 5-pool complex was La Paloma’s oasis-within-an-oasis. Really, we’ve got more than one of those, and the Red Door Salon & Spa certainly meets the definition as well. Here you’ll be able to indulge in massages, wraps, waxes, and much more—all expertly administered in 18 private treatment rooms and two outdoor setups with ravishing views. And if you want to work up a sweat, look no further than our well-equipped fitness center!
